Overview

Course Description

The Internal Medicine Review for Primary Care Providers conference is organized by the Providence Health Care Department of Medicine and will be held from May 10th to May 13th, 2027 at St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This is an accredited activity for up to 20 Mainpro+® credits

Course Learning Objectives

Review of new clinical guidelines for the treatment of diseases and disorders commonly encountered in practice;
Provide clinical pearls to primary care providers directly from subspecialists and clinical researchers;
Highlight new evidence-based treatments using the most up to date clinical and scientific information;

Structure

Each participant will get three hours (3) of small group (maximum 5-6 participants) clinical sessions with a subspecialist each day.
Each participant will get two hours (2) of practical lectures each day that will be interspersed throughout the smaller group sessions.
Participants can select their subspeciality of interest during registration so that participants can personalize their educational experience to match their needs.
Additionally, there will also be dedicated time for questions so that participants can discuss and review difficult cases they have encountered in practice.

Addiction Medicine, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Palliative Care Medicine, Respirology and Rheumatology.

Cancellations

Cancellations: A $100.00 processing fee will apply for cancellations within TEN business days from the start of the course. Cancellations must be done in writing to phcdeptmedicine@phc.ca.

The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 20 Mainpro+® Certified Activity credits.
